About My Blog
My name is Chris Ponteri and I am 41 years old. I live in Wind Lake, Wisconsin. I started running in 1990 and went right into training for the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. I then took 10 years off from competitive running, during which I got married and had a family. I got back into running in 2000 and proceeded to run four marathons over the next six years, culminating in a 3:19 race at the San Francisco Marathon, which qualified me for the the 2008 Boston Marathon. I also do around 20 shorter races each year, including 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons.
I use this blog for three main purposes: 1) to keep track of my workouts, 2) to keep my family and friends updated on my running accomplishments, 3) to solicit advice and get support from other runners. I welcome and encourage any comments.

Cool. Good luck with that goal.
I live in Wisconsin as well, but have never heard of Wind Lake. Nice place?

Chris,
Long time, no see. I got into a business social networking site called LinkedIn (great site) and I’ve been reconnecting with long lost business contacts. Tonight, on a whim, I figured I’d put in some names from my childhood to see if they’d pop up. Your name didn’t, but then I googled it to see if I was spelling it right and found your blog. Shoot me an email at my above address so we can reconnect.
Hope the Boston Marathon works out for you.
Best,
Chuck Conner

Chris, I have not been to your site in a while. I pulled a Hamstring 3 weeks before my Chicago qualifying run. I all worked out - but I was shooting for 3:20 on a flat course. Be careful….you can always pour it on after the Newton Hills.

Thanks for checking in Tim. I will take your advice and just hang low until I get past the hills!! I have hardly been able to run for the past 5 weeks so it is going to be a challenging experience.

Chris,
A 6:22 pace…that is great. I am jealous. Sorry I missed you at the reunion. Hopefully we can connect at an MU game.
